THE INTERSECTION

OF TECHNOLOGY

and HIPAA Compliance

The intersection of technology and HIPAA compliance is a complex and ever-evolving landscape.

Technology has revolutionized the healthcare industry by improving patient care, enhancing operational efficiencies and facilitating communication among healthcare providers. However, it has created new challenges for protecting the privacy and security of patients’ protected health information (PHI). HIPAA regulates the use, storage and sharing of PHI, requires covered entities and business associates to implement administrative, physical and technical safeguards to protect PHI. Technology plays a critical role in implementing these safeguards, but also introduces new risks and vulnerabilities that must be addressed.

In this session, we’ll explore the intersection of technology and HIPAA compliance, examining the challenges, opportunities and best practices for protecting PHI in today’s digital world.
